Wrinkle Fighting Smoothie

Smoothies can be yummy and healthy at the same time.  However,  there are some that provide extra special benefits for specific b2ap3_thumbnail_smooth_skin_fruit.pnghealth concerns.  This is one of my favorite as I work hard to keep my skin looking smooth and wrinkle free.  This smoothie is packed with Vitamin E which comes from Wheat Germ, Omega-3 Fatty Acids from flax seed to combat sun damage and Vitamin C from the yummy berries!  Vitamin C is key for making collagen which is the tissue that holds your skin together and reduces fine lines. The other powerful ingredient is Avocado which has oleic acid.  This type of monounsaturated fat has been linked to reducing wrinkles.  I eat Avocados every day with my salad and they also protect your heart, prevent inflammation in the body, aid digestion and have anti cancer benefits.

So…now that you want to know the Smooth Skin Secret, here it is:

1 cup pitted cherries

1 cup blueberries (fresh/frozen)

1/2 cup strawberries

1/4 avocado (peeled and pitted)

2 Tbsp wheat germ

2 Tbsp ground flax seed

1/2 cup plain low-fat greek yogurt

1 cup ice
